Surrealism

As the name implies, Surrealism has a realistic component; however, it was actually created to fight back against stoic and serious subjects. It was a rebellious response to Europe at the time. Let's watch the video below and find out more about it:

Let's try our hand at Surrealism by engaging in one of their most favourite exercises: The exquisite corpse.

 

In the afternoons, Surrealists would often get together over a cup of coffee and draw for hours in cafes. They did the exact exercise we will be trying out!
