Car Plays
We think of cars as methods of transportation; they take us from one place to the next.
But so much dialogue happens in a car! Let's explore the car as a vehicle for human drama -- a place for comedy, drama, horror and anything in between!
To get your brain jumpstarted, watch the video below:
Then, brainstorm on what situation you may be exploring in your screenplay -- will it be a dramatic incident? Something happy? Something scary?
Will you amuse, shock or disturb your audience? The choice is up to you!
Deliverables
For this project, you will write a script that is no shorter than 3 minutes long for three players!
Do you want to add another player? It's another minute per player. That means if you have 10 people, your play will have to be 10 minutes!
You will need to deliver a written copy of your script prior to performance for approval -- this can be shared with Mrs. Jurgensen via Teams.
Her email is: ajurgensen@sd40.bc.ca
This script will have to be memorized for your presentation.
Your presentation will simulate a car on stage with the audience as voyeurs who are listening in to your conversation and pondering on the situation you are in.
